The breeding of the ball python needs much care and comparing the breeding of the other varieties of pythons this one is little difficult. The basic reason for the difficulty in breeding the ball python is that they need temperature of around 80 in the day and this should decrease with the time. The breeding of the ball python would be successful only if you keep them in the required temperature and humidity during the mid fall. The temperature and the humidity are the major reason that would help in successful breeding of the ball python.

The sex determination of the ball python is the major thing that has to be done before the breeding. The sex determination of the ball python is a difficult one and it is always suggested to take your ball python to a specialist so that the sex can be determined. Then it is always better to leave to two males in a group of three or four pythons so that the breeding takes place successfully during the fall season. The ball pythons have to be left separately during the breeding period.

The feeding of the python during the breeding period has to be done at regular intervals of two weeks. After the commencement of April it is better to separate the snakes and the female pythons have to be fed regularly. The basic test for checking whether the python is pregnant is that it would refuse to eat the food. In such cases the python will lay five to seven eggs in a period of two weeks.
